Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as a young sovereign, depicted at approximately age 37, wearing an ornate open crown enhanced with selective gold plating, her hair styled in soft waves. The draped bust, rendered in high relief against a lightly textured field, is adapted from the Arnold Machin portrait used on Canadian coinage from 1965. The truncation of the bust and the shoulder drapery are highlighted in gold plating. The circumferential Latin legend reads 'ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA', separated by a raised inner bead border and a gold-plated outer rim.
