| Reverse description | The reverse reproduces George Kruger Gray's iconic two-maple-leaf design, originally introduced on the Canadian cent in 1937, featuring two stylized maple leaves on a shared stem, one leaf upright and one slightly overlapping to the right, rendered in high relief against a finely lined field. The denomination '1 CENT' appears in the upper portion of the field, with the date '2022' and the Winnipeg mint mark 'W' positioned below the leaves, and the designer's initials 'K·G' to the lower right. The word 'CANADA' arcs boldly along the lower periphery. A beaded border frames the entire composition, faithfully echoing the classic cent design to commemorate the farewell to the Canadian penny. |
