Reverse description A finely detailed depiction of the Grand Cayman Thrush (Turdus ravidus), an endemic and now extinct species, perched facing right on a naturalistic branch rendered in low relief. Foliage and additional branches fill the upper field, lending a naturalistic setting to the composition. The denomination numeral 1 appears prominently to the right of the bird, while the designer's initials SD for Stuart Devlin are incuse in the lower left field. The overall design is executed in the distinctive engraved wildlife style characteristic of Devlin's work for Commonwealth coinage.
