Obverse description The right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, rendered in the third portrait by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, depicts the monarch wearing the George IV State Diadem, a necklace, and earrings. The truncated bust is modeled with fine sculptural detail characteristic of de Pédery-Hunt's medallic style. The encircling legend reads ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA, denoting her title by the Grace of God. The portrait presents the Queen at approximately 64 years of age, consistent with the likeness adopted in 1990 for Canadian coinage.
