| Obverse lettering | EDWARDVS VII DEI GRATIA REX IMPERATOR CANADA (Translation: Edward VII King and Emperor by the grace of God) |
| Reverse description | The denomination ONE CENT is displayed in two bold lines at the centre of the field, with the date below, all enclosed within an inner beaded circle. A continuous wreath of naturalistic maple leaves and sinuous vines encircles the central legend, extending from a tied bow at the base to fill the entire inner border. The mint mark H, denoting the Heaton Mint of Birmingham, appears at the base of the beaded circle on relevant issues. The outer rim is defined by a raised beaded border consistent with the obverse. |
