SLO Collections was a French private publisher that produced a wave of speculative "euro fantasy" pieces in the late 1990s, attributing invented local coinages to individual French communes ahead of the actual euro introduction in 1999. Bettancourt-La-Ferrée is a small village in Haute-Marne. These pieces had no legal tender status anywhere and were sold directly to collectors as novelties, capitalizing on euro anticipation fever before any official cent had been struck.
