Rhodesia's post-UDI coinage was struck under international sanctions that made even routine procurement of minting contracts a diplomatic obstacle. These cents were produced at the Royal Mint on contract — an arrangement that created the quiet absurdity of Britain supplying coins to a government London officially refused to recognize.
