| Obverse description | The coat of arms of Ghana occupies the copper-nickel centre field, featuring two Ghanaian eagles as supporters flanking a quartered shield adorned with a sword and linguist's staff, a castle, a cocoa tree, and a gold mine shaft, surmounted by a five-pointed star. A ribbon scroll at the base bears the national motto FREEDOM AND JUSTICE AND in three lines. The brass outer ring is decorated with a stylised foliate and floral pattern around its circumference. The legend GHANA appears in the upper portion of the ring, and the date 2018 is inscribed at the base; the Moscow Mint privy mark (ММД) appears in the lower centre field below the arms. |
