Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after Ian Rank-Broadley, set within a raised inner circle against a polished field. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation. The circumferential legend is divided between the upper arc and lower arc, with the Ghanaian coat of arms appearing at the base between the words REPUBLIC OF GHANA. A decorative beaded border frames the outer rim.
