Obverse description Central square perforation surrounded by a plain inner raised rim, with four Chinese ideograms in clerical script (lishu) arranged in the traditional reading order: top, bottom, right, left, rendering the legend 宣和通寶 (Xuanhe Tongbao). The characters are rendered in a formal, deliberate clerical style with characteristic horizontal stroke emphasis. A raised outer rim frames the entire field, and the coin surface exhibits the typical flat, undecorated treatment of Northern Song cast cash coinage.
