Obverse description Central square perforation surrounded by four Chinese characters rendered in clerical script (lishu), one positioned in each quadrant of the field. The four-character reign title legend reads clockwise: 咸 (Xian, top), 康 (Kang, right), 元 (Yuan, bottom), 寶 (Bao, left). The characters are boldly cast in raised relief with broad strokes characteristic of Five Dynasties-period cash coinage. No inner or outer rim decoration is present beyond the plain raised borders framing the central aperture and the coin's circumference.
Obverse script Chinese (traditional, clerical script)

The surface exhibits characteristic casting texture consistent with Five Dynasties-period bronze cash production.
