| Reverse description | Plain field displaying two Manchu script characters in raised relief, positioned vertically on either side of the central square hole and read top-to-bottom: ᠪᠣᠣ (Boo) to the right and ᠵᡳᠨ (Jin) to the left, identifying the issuing mint at Jinan, Shandong province. The reverse field is otherwise unadorned, with a smooth, flat surface framed by the inner and outer rims. The Manchu inscription is characteristic of Qing dynasty cash coinage, where the mint name appeared in Manchu on the reverse as a standard administrative convention. |
