Reverse description The reverse displays a three-character mint and weight inscription arranged around the central square hole in regular script (楷書). The character 新 (Xin, denoting the New Branch mint) appears to the right of the hole, with 一錢 (Yi Qian) to the left and 一分 (Yi Fen) below, collectively reading 新一錢一分, indicating the coin's mint of origin and its nominal weight of one qian and one fen. The raised rim is plain and the field is flat, consistent with standard Ming dynasty cast coinage practice.
