Reverse description The reverse presents a plain, unadorned field surrounding the central square hole, framed by a raised inner and outer rim. A single Chinese character 一 (Yi, meaning 'one') is cast in relief to the right of the square hole, denoting the coin's denomination of one cash. The remainder of the reverse field is blank, typical of the earliest Shunzhi-period issues before the introduction of mint marks. The casting is clean with a well-defined rim.
