Reverse description The reverse features two mint identification characters flanking the central square perforation, read horizontally across the coin. To the left appears the Manchu script character 'ᠯᡳᠨ' (lin), rendered vertically in the Manchu-Tungusic tradition, and to the right the corresponding Chinese ideogram 臨 (Lin), both denoting the Linqing mint in Shandong province. The characters are boldly cast in raised relief against a plain field, enclosed by the same inner and outer rims as the obverse.
