| Obverse description | Cast copper cash coin featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a raised square rim. Four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) are disposed in cruciform arrangement around the central aperture, reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left: 光 (Quang), 紹 (Thiệu), 通 (Thông), 寶 (Bảo), forming the legend 'Quang Thiệu Thông Bảo'. The characters are bold and well-defined in relief against a flat field, enclosed within a raised inner rim bordering the square hole and a raised outer rim at the coin's periphery. The surface exhibits characteristic bronze patina with areas of golden-yellow and green oxidation consistent with age. |
