| Obverse description | Round cast brass coin centred on a square perforation, with four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) disposed in the four cardinal quadrants around the central hole. Reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left, the legend reads 乾隆通寶 (Qian Long Tong Bao), denoting the Qianlong reign title and the phrase 'circulating treasure'. The characters are rendered in bold, slightly raised relief against a flat inner field, flanked by plain inner and outer rims typical of Qing dynasty Board of Revenue coinage. |
