| Reverse description | The reverse displays two Manchu script characters flanking the central square hole, one to the left and one to the right, reading vertically in the traditional Manchu manner. The inscription reads ᠪᠣᠣ ᠵᡳ (Boo-ji), identifying the Ji mint (Board of Works, Beijing). The characters are cast in low relief with flowing, cursive strokes characteristic of Manchu script, set within a flat field bounded by a raised inner rim and plain outer rim. The surface retains an even brass tone with light wear consistent with circulation use. |
