| Obverse description | Round cast copper cash coin featuring a central square hole surrounded by four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in cruciform reading order: 乾 (Qian) above, 隆 (Long) below, 通 (Tong) to the right, and 寶 (Bao) to the left, together reading 'Qianlong Tongbao' — 'Circulating Treasure of the Qianlong reign.' The characters are rendered in bold, well-formed strokes within a plain, unadorned field. A raised rim encircles the obverse, and the square hole is cleanly cast with defined inner edges. |
