Reverse description Central square hole flanked on either side by Manchu script characters in raised relief against a plain field, reading ᠪᠣᠣ (Boo) to the left and ᠨᡳᠩ (ning) to the right, together identifying the Ningbo Mint as the issuing authority. The Manchu legends are rendered in the standard vertical orientation used on Qing dynasty cash coinage, enclosed within a plain raised rim consistent with the obverse.
