Obverse description Crowned royal cypher of King Frederik III of Denmark, rendered in a crudely cast style typical of Indian colonial cash coinage. The monogram 'F3' appears prominently in the central field, surmounted by a simplified royal crown. The irregular flan and rough surface reflect the primitive casting techniques employed at the Danish settlement of Tranquebar.
