Obverse description Crude cast design featuring the crowned royal cypher of King Frederik III of Denmark. The conjoined letters 'F' and '3' appear in the central field beneath a simplified crown, rendered in the rough, low-relief style characteristic of cast lead coinage produced at the Danish trading settlement of Tranquebar. The irregular flan and uneven surface are typical of this primitive local issue.
