| Obverse description | Crude crowned royal cypher 'F 3' in the field, representing King Frederik III of Denmark, with the crown rendered as a simple three-pointed form above the monogram. The overall design is characteristic of the rudimentary cast lead coinage produced for the Danish trading settlement of Tranquebar (Trankebar) in India. The surfaces are irregular and show the typical rough fabric associated with cast lead cash coinage. Two small pellets or dots appear in the lower field flanking the base of the cypher. |
