Reverse description Crowned Norse lion passant left, resting upon or accompanied by a curved battle-axe, the traditional heraldic emblem of the Danish royal arms. The lion is rendered in a stylized, crude manner consistent with the cast lead coinage of the Danish India settlements. No mintmaster letter or additional mark appears below the lion. The flan is irregular and the relief is low due to the casting technique employed.
