| Obverse description | Cast bronze cash coin featuring four Chinese characters in clerical script (lishu) arranged in cruciform reading order — top, bottom, right, left — around a central square perforation: 大 (dà, top), 唐 (táng, bottom), 通 (tōng, right), 寶 (bǎo, left), together reading 大唐通寶 (Dà Táng Tōng Bǎo, 'Great Tang Universal Currency'). The characters are rendered in bold, well-formed strokes with the characteristic horizontal emphasis of clerical script, set within a plain inner rim bordering the square hole. The outer rim is raised and relatively broad, framing the design cleanly. The coin shows an even brownish-bronze patina with traces of green oxidation, consistent with burial or extended circulation. The flat field between the characters and the rims is unadorned. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is entirely plain (uniface), displaying no inscription, decoration, or mintmark of any kind. A broad, flat raised outer rim encircles a smooth inner field, at the centre of which the square perforation is bordered by a slightly raised square inner rim. The surface shows areas of grey and green patination alongside patches of exposed bronze, typical of aged cast coinage from the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. |
