Reverse description Round cast brass coin with a central square perforation. Two Manchu script legends are arranged symmetrically in the left and right fields flanking the central square hole: the right legend reads ᠪᠣᠣ (Boo) and the left reads ᠴᡳᠣᠸᠠᠨ (ciowan), together transliterating 'Boo-ciowan', the Manchu rendering of the mint name for the Board of Revenue Mint in Beijing. The characters are cast in bold relief against a plain, flat field, with a raised outer rim. The reverse fields above and below the square hole are left blank, consistent with standard Qing cash coin convention.
