Obverse description Central square perforation surrounded by four Chinese characters rendered in grass script (cursive style), arranged in the traditional cross pattern and read top-to-bottom, right-to-left, forming the legend 大治通寶 (Đại Trị Thông Bảo). The characters are boldly cast in raised relief against a flat field, with the fluid, abbreviated strokes characteristic of the grass script style clearly visible. A plain inner rim frames the square hole, and a raised outer rim borders the coin's circumference. The overall execution is typical of Vietnamese Trần dynasty cast cash coinage of the mid-14th century.
