| Obverse description | Four Chinese ideograms in Regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform fashion around a central square perforation, reading clockwise from the top: 淳 (Chun), 熙 (Xi), 元 (Yuan), 寶 (Bao). The characters are rendered in crisp relief, separated by the inner square rim surrounding the central hole. The coin features a raised outer rim encircling the entire field, typical of Southern Song dynasty cast cash coinage. |
