Obverse description Cast brass cash coin featuring the four-character reign title legend 崇禎通寶 (Chongzhen Tongbao) arranged in cruciform reading order around a central square hole: top, bottom, right, and left. The characters are rendered in regular script (kaishu) in raised relief against a flat field, with a plain inner rim and a slightly raised outer rim encircling the coin. The casting is typical of late Ming dynasty workmanship, with moderately defined strokes and a flat, unadorned field.
