Reverse description Central square hole framed by a raised square rim, with a single Chinese ideogram in regular script positioned above the perforation in the upper field. The character 局 (Ju, meaning 'office' or 'bureau') denotes the mint office responsible for production, consistent with the northern type attribution to the Beijing ministerial mints. The remaining three quadrants of the reverse field are blank. A plain raised circular rim borders the outer edge.
