| Obverse description | Cast brass cash coin of standard Ming Dynasty format, featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a raised inner rim and a plain outer rim. Four Chinese ideograms in regular script (kaishu) are arranged in the traditional cruciform reading order — top, bottom, right, left — around the central square hole, forming the reign title and currency legend. The characters are boldly cast in relief against a flat field, typical of the northern-type Chongzhen series. The overall style is characteristic of late Ming provincial casting, with slightly uneven relief and a granular surface texture. |
