| Obverse description | Central square hole surrounded by four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform reading order (top, bottom, right, left): 寶泰通寶 (Bảo Thái Thông Bảo), rendered in regular script (kaishu). The characters occupy the four quadrants of the coin's inner field, with plain raised rims bordering both the central perforation and the outer circumference. The casting displays typical Vietnamese cash coin style of the Lê dynasty period, with bold, slightly worn strokes and a patinated copper surface. |
