Obverse description A Sogdian legend in cursive script encircles an uncut central square hole, occupying the full field of the flan. The inscription reads `prykk MLK` (King Afrig), rendered in the flowing strokes characteristic of early medieval Sogdian epigraphy. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with the legend partially worn but largely legible. No additional devices or border ornaments are present; the script itself constitutes the sole decorative element of the obverse.
