Obverse description Central field occupied by the interlaced cypher of the United East India Company (VOC), rendered in a bold, archaic script formed by the four letters V, E, I, and C arranged in a cruciform monogram. The design is crudely executed in the hammered tradition, with an irregular flan typical of early Madras Presidency copper coinage. The monogram nearly fills the entire field, with no border legend present. The coin's surface shows characteristic tool marks and uneven metal flow consistent with hand-struck production.
