Obverse description Central field features a plain Greek cross with a pellet in each of the four angles formed by the arms, enclosed within a plain inner circle. The surrounding legend reads ✠ M • ANT • TRIVISA • DVX, referencing Marcantonio Trevisan in his capacity as Doge, arranged in Latin script around the circumference. The overall design is characteristic of Venetian colonial billon coinage of the mid-sixteenth century, struck by the hammer method and showing typical flatness and irregular flan edges.
