| Reverse description | Four interlaced crowned monograms of Adolphus von Dalberg arranged in cruciform pattern, with the Roman numeral X at the center denoting the value. The monograms are elegantly intertwined and surmounted by a prince's crown at the top of the cross. Four small floral or star ornaments appear in the angles between the arms of the cross. The surrounding legend reads CANDORE ET AMORE, meaning 'With Sincerity and Love,' the personal motto of the prince-abbot. The date 1734 is inscribed in the lower field beneath the cruciform design. |
