| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the papal coat of arms of Pope Pius VI, comprising a quartered shield surmounted by a five-pointed coronet and flanked by elaborate acanthus scrollwork. Above the shield, the crossed keys of Saint Peter are visible beneath the papal tiara (triregnum), rendered in moderate relief. The arms are enclosed within a beaded inner border. The circular Latin legend reads PIVS·SEXTVS PON·M·A·III·, distributed around the periphery, identifying the pontiff and his regnal year. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents the denomination inscription arranged in three lines within an ornate baroque cartouche formed by bold foliate and scroll volutes, surmounted by a decorative crown. The text reads VN / CARLINO / ROMANO followed by the date 1777 on the lowest line, all set within the cartouche against a plain field. A mint mark or engraver's initial appears at the base of the cartouche. The entire design is enclosed by a beaded border consistent with the obverse. |
