| Obverse description | The elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Mahmud II occupies the central field, rendered in bold raised relief with sweeping loops and interlocking strokes characteristic of Ottoman imperial monograms. A small floral ornament appears to the right of the tughra. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, itself set within a plain raised outer rim, the flan being notably irregular in shape as typical of hammered billon coinage of the Algerian Regency. |

| Reverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, the field is divided by a horizontal line into two registers: the upper register bears the mint name in Arabic script, and the lower register contains the regnal and Hijri date in Arabic numerals. A decorative floral device appears at the top of the upper register, surmounting the legend. The whole is contained within a plain raised outer rim, consistent with the irregularly shaped hammered flan. |
