Reverse description Two facing busts of Saints Peter and Paul depicted side by side in high relief within a concentric trilobe border, a distinctive artistic feature of Macerata bolognini of this period. The busts are rendered in a frontal, hieratic style characteristic of 15th-century papal coinage, with each saint identified by the surrounding legend. A mintmaster's symbol appears at the bottom of the field below the busts. The legend runs around the periphery in Latin capital letters interspersed with star ornaments.
