Obverse description The obverse bears the Bolivian national coat of arms in high relief at center, depicting an oval shield containing a mountainous landscape with the iconic Cerro Rico of Potosí, a llama standing in the foreground, a breadfruit tree, and a radiant sun rising above the peaks. The shield is surmounted by a condor with wings displayed and flanked symmetrically by crossed Bolivian flags and halberds to either side, with a fasces at each outer edge. A wreath of laurel and olive encircles the base of the arms, tied at the bottom. Nine five-pointed stars appear along the lower arc of the coin field, and the circumferential legend reads REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA, separated by the coat of arms, within a beaded border.
