| Reverse description | Within the nickel-plated steel centre, a bare-headed left-facing portrait bust of Simón Bolívar is rendered in low relief after the classic effigy designed by engraver Albert-Désiré Barre, with his engraver's signature 'BARRE' inscribed at the base of the truncation. The brass-plated steel outer ring carries the legend 'BOLIVAR' across the upper arc and 'LIBERTADOR' across the lower arc, separated on each side by a row of five-pointed stars. |
