Reverse description The crowned Lion of Judah passant to the right, holding an upright staff bearing a cross-topped banner in its right forepaw, rendered in high sculptural relief. The lion wears an imperial crown upon its head, symbolizing the Solomonic dynasty. Two six-pointed stars appear in the field, one above and one below the lion. A circular Ge'ez legend surrounds the design along the periphery, with the denomination legend inscribed in the lower exergue. The whole is contained within a beaded border.
