| Obverse description | Draped bust of Haile Selassie I facing left, wearing an ornate imperial crown and richly embroidered ceremonial robes adorned with cross motifs. A decorative earring is visible, and the portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail. Ge'ez legend appears to the upper left and upper right of the effigy, with a further inscription in Ge'ez script positioned along the lower field beneath the bust. The design is framed by a beaded inner border. |
