| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Albert I in left-facing profile, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curly hair and a naturalistic, classical portrait style characteristic of Godefroid Devreese's medallic work. The truncation of the neck is cleanly cut. The circular legend reads ALBERT ROI to the left and DES BELGES to the right, each segment separated by raised pellets. The engraver's signature G. DEVREESE appears incused along the lower rim of the field. The coin is bordered by a fine dentilated rim. |
