| Obverse description | Central field displays the quartered arms of Königstein surmounted by the date in Roman numerals (M·D·XVIII visible on the example shown), all within a beaded inner circle. The shield bears the characteristic diagonal bars and additional charges of the comital house of Königstein. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, partially separated from the inner device by a beaded ring. The hammered flan exhibits characteristic irregular edges and surfaces typical of early sixteenth-century German coinage. |
