Obverse description The canton arms of Aargau displayed on an oval shield at center, the field divided vertically with horizontal lines on the dexter side and a diaper pattern on the sinister, three stars arranged in a vertical column along the palar line. The shield is set within a wreath composed of laurel on the left and a twisted rope motif on the right, tied at the base with a horizontal bar. The circular legend CANTON ARGAU runs along the upper periphery, and the denomination 10 RAPPEN is inscribed along the lower border beneath the wreath.
