| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Panama occupies the central bimetallic disc, rendered in fine detail with the escutcheon divided into quarters depicting a crossed sword and rifle, a shovel and pickaxe, a cornucopia, and a winged eagle above the shield with wings spread. Nine stars arc above the eagle in the field of the inner disc. The legend REPÚBLICA DE PANAMÁ curves along the upper portion of the outer nickel-plated steel ring, while UN BALBOA is inscribed along the lower portion, both in raised Latin lettering. The motto PRO MUNDI BENEFICIO appears on a scroll across the shield. |
