The legend 'DIO E POPOLO' arcs across the field on either side of the wreath, reading left and right respectively. The engraver's initials 'N·C·' appear at the lower left of the exergue, flanking the mint mark 'R·' at center base. The entire design is framed by a prominent dentilated border.
