Obverse description Draped military bust of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in left profile, wearing a high-collared uniform adorned with decorations and epaulettes rendered in fine detail. The effigy occupies the central field with considerable relief and naturalistic portraiture characteristic of late 19th-century European engraving influence. A circular Thai-script legend surrounds the bust, reading the king's full royal title and the mint reference year 116 (in the Thai lunar calendar). Asterisk ornaments separate sections of the legend at left and right, and the border is formed by a continuous reeded rim.
