Obverse description Hammered gold flan bearing a dense multi-line Arabic legend filling the entire field in a bold, flowing Naskh script. The inscription names the ruler Shah Isma'il I with his full royal titulature, arranged in successive lines across the coin's surface without a formal border. The irregular flan gives the design an organic, uneven outline characteristic of early Safavid hammered gold coinage. The legend is deeply struck in high relief against an essentially plain field, with minor flat spots and adjustment marks typical of hand-struck issues of this period.
